Caroline de Lannoy: 'a technical presentation by the fabricators no 19' - 2015

The sound work 'a technical presentation by the fabricators' no 19 is written, composed, performed and produced by Caroline de Lannoy.
Caroline De Lannoy turns daily working life into a sound performance. For her all artistic activity is building. The artist sands a board surface / drills a board / cuts a wood with a circular saw / cuts a wood with a jig saw / uses a hacksaw / uses a steel cut off machine electric tool / uses a hammer …

My audio works ‘A technical presentation by the fabricators’ is a daily cocktail and assortment of sounds as a material in certain physical space and time.  The sound is taken from the artist studio, which includes elements of performance, practical process, interaction, movement, and gesture. This acoustic collage is a literal record of actions in the workshops.

A technical presentation by the fabricators no 11 - 2013

'Caroline de Lannoy is interested in how things are made, how they function and the properties of materials. The artist is problem-solver; creating work that can suggest answers to spatial concerns, and, in doing so, pose new questions. She investigates the relationships between the physical structures and tools that we interact with. One aspect of this investigation is the exploration into the different possibilities of materials. The works are part of an evolving experimentation into the form and function of art.' The work is performed and published at:
